Hi everybody, and welcome to my new website! First of all, a big thank you to my brother’s web design company “6/8 Innovation” and of course to my brother in particular. I could never make anything look as nice as this! This article is a quick way to get you started by pointing you right away to the tastiest bits on the website!
To start with, there’s the section you’re reading now: my Blog. I’ll be posting regularly (at least a couple of times a month) on all sorts of chess subjects, depending on what my obsession is at the time. As you can see from the current range of articles, I’m pretty keen on Alekhine at the moment!
The level of the articles will vary significantly. In some articles, I’ve gone a little wild with analysis and variations. In others – particularly in the “Chess for Life” category – the level is much more accessible.
The “Chess for Life” category is a special category as it ties in with the book of the same name that I’ve co-written with WIM Natasha Regan and that will be available for purchase from the beginning of March 2016. Take a look at the “Books” section of my website to learn more! Articles in this category are simpler, and build on the techniques and tips we explain in the book. For example, one of the chapters in the book details how I used themes from Capablanca’s games to get myself up to speed for the super-strong London Classic in 2013. The blog article “Alekhine’s Themes – b4!” does something similar with Alekhine’s games!
Another fun way I’ve tried to tie in to “Chess for Life” is the “Videos” section under “additional content”. There you’ll find (at the time of writing) 20 videos, each of which expands further on a theme from the book. We had way too much content to fit into our book, so we thought that this would be a nice way to still share it with our readers!
Here is the list of videos:
